Key Features

As the first large-scale offshore wind farm project in the Caspian Sea, the project represents a strategic milestone in the development of Azerbaijan's renewable energy sector.

As part of the project, the Caspian Sea's first offshore LiDAR wind measurement system has been installed, marking a significant milestone in regional offshore wind resource assessment.

Located approximately 15 km offshore, the LiDAR system continuously measures wind speed and direction at heights of up to 300 metres, while also collecting wave and meteorological data.

Installed 13 km offshore at a depth of 33 metres, the ADCP system provides accurate data on ocean current speed and direction, as well as water temperature and pressure.

The collected data establishes a reliable foundation for the planning, design, and development of future offshore wind farms in the Caspian Sea.
